Full of His Glory

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:3

There is something so powerful about the words, “the whole earth is full of His glory.”

Sometimes we look for God’s glory only in the extraordinary… the answered prayer, the miracle, the breakthrough, or the moment that leaves us completely in awe. But Isaiah reminds us that God’s glory is already all around us.

We see it in the sunrise and sunset. In the details of a flower. In the changing seasons. In the stars filling the night sky. In the incredible way creation works together.

Everything He has made carries the fingerprints of the One who made it.

And we are part of that creation too.

Sometimes we can look at a sunset and immediately think, “Wow, look at God’s glory,” yet look at ourselves and only notice what we wish were different.

But think about this: the same God who created the mountains, oceans, flowers, and stars intentionally created you.

Scripture tells us that we are made in the image of God. There is something incredibly beautiful about realizing that our lives can be a reflection of our Creator.

That doesn’t mean that we are the source of the glory. God is. We are His creation, and our lives have the opportunity to point back to Him.

Think about a beautiful painting. When you admire the painting, you are ultimately admiring the creativity, imagination, and ability of the artist who created it. In a similar way, creation points us toward its Creator.

The gifts God has placed within us, our personalities, our ability to love, create, serve, encourage, worship, and even move our bodies can all become little reflections of His goodness.

For dancers…

Think about everything the human body is capable of: the strength to jump, the balance to turn, the ability to hear music and respond to it through movement, and the ability to communicate something without ever speaking a word.

What an incredible Creator we have.

Dance is another way creation reflects the creativity of God. When we recognize that our bodies, talents, and abilities are gifts from Him, our perspective begins to change. Dance doesn’t have to be about drawing attention to ourselves. It can become an opportunity to point beyond ourselves to the One who gave us the gift in the first place.

Remember…

Our everyday lives can quietly say, “Look how good my Creator is.”

Maybe part of learning to see the glory of God is simply learning to pay attention. To slow down enough to notice Him. To stop believing that we need something spectacular to happen before we can be amazed by God.

His glory is already surrounding us.

And when we read, “the whole earth is full of His glory,” may we remember that we aren’t simply observers of His creation… we are part of it.

We were created by Him, in His image, and for His purposes. And when we surrender our gifts, our movement, our words, our creativity, and our lives to Him, we have the beautiful opportunity to reflect His light to the people around us.

So today, look around.

Notice the sky. Notice the people God has placed in your life. Notice the abilities He has given you. Notice the little things you normally rush past.

And then remember that you, too, were created by this incredible God.

Reflect

  1. Where can you see God’s glory around you today?

  2. What is something about the way God created you that you can thank Him for?

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to see Your glory all around me. Thank You for the beauty of Your creation, and thank You that I am part of it. Help me remember that You created me intentionally and that every gift I have comes from You. May the way I dance, speak, love, create, serve, and live reflect Your goodness. Let my life point beyond myself and back to You, the Creator of it all. May everything I do bring You glory.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
